Cooper Tire settles tread-separation lawsuit

Little Rock, Arkansas — The Associated Press reported that Cooper Tire & Rubber settled a lawsuit regarding a blown tire that caused an accident in which four people died. The terms of the settlement were not made available and the case was scheduled for trial in federal court at Helena. Bruce Kaster, the attorney representing the families of those killed, confirmed that a settlement had been reached but declined to disclose the terms.
